The pair represented half of the squad in the Women’s Under 19 category in Genoa, Italy.

The school’s head of rowing, Tim Messent, said: “It has been a pleasure to work with Olivia and Lucy and witness their development over the past year.

“Their selection for the Great Britain Rowing Team in the World Beach Sprint Finals is a tremendous achievement, and I’d like to extend my thanks to Welsh Rowing and British Rowing for their invaluable support.

“Both rowers have worked incredibly hard to earn their spots on the team.”

He added: “It’s fantastic to see that RGS Worcester has produced 50 per cent of the Women’s Under 19 team for this prestigious event.

“I’m extremely proud of their achievements and look forward to supporting them from afar as they compete on the world stage.”

RGS Worcester has invited those interested in learning more about the school’s rowing opportunities to attend the open morning on Saturday, September 21, where they will be able to meet Mr Messent.
