The latest Emma Raducanu news has highlighted how the British tennis ace wants to finish the closing weeks of 2024 as strongly as possible.
On September 19, Raducanu is set to play against Yue Yuan in the last 16 of the Korea Open. It’s only the 21-year-old’s third tournament since Wimbledon.
Raducanu has confessed she made some miscalculations in her scheduling over the summer period. However, she wants to get as much game time under her belt as possible.
In particular in Asia, a continent in which she believes she flourishes. Raducanu chose to skip the Paris Olympics in order to focus on the North American hard-court swing.
This proved to be a mistake on the former US Open champion’s part. After a first-round defeat to Sofia Kenin, Raducanu admitted she should have played more in the summer.
In the latest Emma Raducanu news, the Brit tennis star explained she is looking forward to the China Open and Wuhan Open, alongside her charge towards the Korea Open title this week.
“I think the rest of the year, as long as I’m healthy, I’m going to try and finish the season and play as many matches as I can,” she said.
“It’s something I’m really light on since the grass through the [Washington] DC period. I’ve not played many points, even in practice.
“So as gruelling as the match against Peyton Stearns was, I think I had three hours of match experience which can only aid me going into the next few weeks.
“For me now, I just want to play matches and, in the meantime, do a little bit of work on my game where I can. This is one of my favourite weeks on the calendar,” she concluded.
Ahead of the last 16 clash against Yue Yuan, the best betting sites in the UK make Raducanu the 4/11 favourite.
