A huge diesel spillage and vehicle sparked rush hour traffic on the M6, with hour-long delays for commuters.
Emergency services attended the scene in Staffordshire this morning (November 20), with all four northbound lanes closed. Only one lane remains shut thie afternoon.
National Highways was warning of severe delays of up to two hours for drivers. As of 2.30pm, the clean-up operation is underway and delays have eased to 20 minutes.
A post on their website read: “Staffs fire are leading the response with National Highways Traffic Officers providing assistance with traffic management.”
