A new Black Sheep Coffee shop has opened in the city centre. The company opened its first Liverpool location in 2022, taking over the former EE store on Liverpool ONE’s Paradise Place.

The new Whitechapel shop has been franchised by Monuar Moni who will oversee daily operations and success of the business. This is Monour’s first venture into the Black Sheep Coffee company.

Monour told the ECHO he hopes to open yet another store elsewhere in the city centre. Although plans are at a very early stage, he has “high hopes” they will come to fruition thanks to the “great location”.

The Whitechapel shop spans across two units, previously occupied by Caffè Nero and a mobile phone clinic. The store acts as a typical coffee shop during the day while offering cocktails at night.

Black Sheep Coffee was founded by former St Andrews University students Eirik Holth and Gabriel Shohet, who opened the first outlet in Camden in 2013. The chain, which has more than 100 shops across Great Britain – including one in Preston – describes itself as being “ready to take down big corporate brands and rid the world of boring, average-tasting coffee.”
