Romell Glave, speaking to BBC Sport after winning the bronze medal in the men’s 100m final:
“It feels amazing. Just the journey to be here. I’m grateful
to God, my coach and team to help me to be here today.
“It’s been a difficult journey but I’m here to show that I can
come up from anything and it’s just a stepping stone for bigger things to come
in the future.”
On coming away with a medal on his major debut:
“It’s incredible, I wanted to get the gold but I’ll take the
positives from it and learn from it and hope that I can get a rematch at the
Olympics.
“I will go back, look at the video and work on it.”
How did he cope with the false starts?
“We practice a lot of blocks in training, we’re setting them
each time after each round. I just reset and just cope with it under pressure.
I have to, it’s a mind game from here.”
On facing the Olympic champion in Italy:
“For me I was focusing on my execution, I just locked in to
what I need to do. I think I did it but I’m a not disappointed not to get the
gold medal, but so close.”
“I aim for the Olympic trials, that’s my main focus and hopefully
I get to the Olympics.”
