Claire Taggart and her Great Britain team-mates will face Indonesia in the boccia BC1/2 quarter-finals at the Paralympics on Wednesday morning.
The Great Britain trio of Larne woman Taggart, Kayleigh Haggo and David Smith edged out Portugal 5-4 on Tuesday evening.
That came after a 13-1 defeat by China in their first pool match.
Despite going into the final end with a 5-2 lead, Great Britain had to battle to hold off a Portuguese comeback as their opponents scored two points in the final end.
“We’re delighted to have made it into the quarters after the disappointment of this morning,” said Taggart, who narrowly missed out on a medal in her individual event.
“To fight back the way we did, I’d so proud of each and every one of us.”
Haggo added: “I couldn’t really look (at the last shot). I was closing my eyes, it was just so nerve-wracking.”
Smith added that it was another “tough battle” against the Portuguese.
“It’s always dip and tuck. I think we beat them on a tiebreak at the Worlds two years ago so it’s always tight. When we went 5-2 up, we knew the last end they’d come back at us,” he added.
