Paris 2024 Olympics: Team GB name equestrian squad

Charlotte Dujardin could become Great Britain’s most decorated female Olympian after being confirmed in the equestrian team for the Paris Games.

Dujardin’s six Olympic dressage medals – three of which are gold – means she is level with former cyclist Dame Laura Kenny, but a medal of any colour in Paris would see her top the list.

The 38-year-old is joined in the Team GB equestrian line-up by Ben Maher, who will compete at his fifth Olympics and defend his individual showjumping title in Paris.

Dujardin is named alongside Carl Hester, set for his seventh Games, as well as world champion Lottie Fry and Becky Moody in the dressage squad.

Dujardin, Hester and Fry won team dressage bronze in Tokyo three years ago, and last year won European team gold – Britain’s first dressage team gold medal since the London Olympics.

Alongside Maher in the showjumping team are Scott Brash, Harry Charles and Joe Stockdale.

In eventing, Tokyo gold medallists Laura Collett and Tom McEwen are joined by Yasmin Ingham and Ros Canter, the current world and European champions respectively.

The equestrian events at the Paris Olympics will take place in the magnificent setting of the Palace of Versailles, about 10 miles west of the capital.

The equestrian programme runs from 27 July to 6 August.
