Plans advanced for retailer’s Click and Collect service in Aberdeen – Aberdeen Business News

High street fashion retailer Primark is moving forward with plans to introduce its “click and collect” service to Aberdeen, as part of a nationwide rollout to all 184 stores in Great Britain by the end of 2025.

The popular budget clothing chain has submitted plans worth £60,000 to modify its Union Street store in Aberdeen to accommodate the new service.

This development comes as Primark expands its click and collect offering, which has been successful in trial locations across England and Wales.

The click and collect service will allow Aberdeen shoppers to browse and purchase a wide range of Primark products online, including women’s, men’s, children’s, and home items, then collect their orders from a dedicated area in the store.

This move is part of Primark’s strategy to enhance customer convenience while maintaining its strong brick-and-mortar presence. George Weston, Chief Executive of Associated British Foods, Primark’s parent company, emphasised the retailer’s commitment to value, saying: “Primark has no plans to raise prices in the future as it aims to remain the best value retailer on the high street.”

The introduction of click and collect in Aberdeen is imminent, with building papers submitted to Aberdeen City Council indicating that it could be on the way soon. The documents reveal that bosses would spend £60,000 to carry out a string of alterations to the store.

The service will be free of charge for orders over £10. As Primark continues to adapt to changing consumer habits, this new offering is set to provide Aberdeen shoppers with a blend of online convenience and in-store experience.
