More than 100 people died Tuesday after landslides hit Wayanad district of India’s southernmost state of Kerala. According to officials, nearly 350 families reside in the affected region and 250 people have been rescued. Kerala government has declared official mourning in the state on Tuesday and Wednesday (July 31). Radical Islamist preacher Anjem Choudary was sentenced for life in UK after he was found guilty of promoting a banned “terrorist organisation” Al-Muhajiroun (ALM). The ALM was set up with an aim to establish an Islamic caliphate in Britain and was banned in 2010. Meanwhile, after untimely death of ex-Iran president Ebrahim Raisi in a helicopter crash, the shi’ite nation got its new leader today in the form of Masoud Pezeshkian.
