A major motorway in the UK was hit with delays earlier today after a collision.
The southbound M1 in South Yorkshire was closed between Junction 48 (Hook Moor Interchange) and Junction 47 (Parlington Interchange) after the incident.
Emergency services, including West Yorkshire Police, West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue, Yorkshire Ambulance, and National Highways, attended the scene.
In an update this afternoon, National Highways: Yorkshire announced the M1 had been reopened southbound between J48 (#A1M) and J47 (Garforth and Casstleton).
“Please allow extra journey time whilst traffic flow returns to normal,” the agency said, thanking drivers for their patience.
