Success at the Olympic Games has resulted in a big shift in the BBC Sports Personality of the Year odds on betting sites.
Great Britain won 14 gold medals at the Paris Olympics and some of those winners feature heavily in the latest list to land the prestigious award.
Keely Hodgkinson claimed silver on her Olympics debut in Tokyo three years ago, but went one better in France by storming to victory in the 800m final.
The 22-year-old middle-distance runner from Atherton, Greater Manchester, is the overwhelming favourite to become the fourth successive woman to win SPOTY, but who are her rivals?

Athletes have won SPOTY a record 18 times, 10 more than Formula One drivers, so it’s understandable Hodgkinson leads the field.
Katarina Johnson-Thompson had a chance of winning the heptathlon heading into her final event only to settle for silver, but Welsh track cyclist Emma Finucane brought home one gold and two bronze medals from Paris.
There are bound to be plenty of twists and turns before the final shortlist is announced, but Gambling.com has looked at the main contenders to win the prestigious trophy on December 15.

Hodgkinson In The Running
Two-time world silver medallist Hodgkinson got her hands on Olympic gold after a dominant performance in the women’s 800m final.
The European champion saw off her rivals Tsige Duguma and Mary Moraa in a time of 1 minute 56.72 seconds to become the third British woman to win the title.
Hodgkinson, only the 10th British woman to win athletics gold at the Olympic Games, said: “I have worked really hard for the last year and I think you can see how much it meant to me when I crossed the line.”
She was 9/4 to win SPOTY with betting apps before her Olympic success, but those odds have since been cut to 1/2.

Littler And Cavendish Back In The Frame
Teenager Luke Littler became a global sensation in January when he reached the final of the PDC World Darts Championship, aged just 16.
The Warrington youngster lost 7-4 to Luke Humphries in the showpiece, but it was a remarkable achievement for a player ranked 164th in the world at the start of the tournament.
Littler continued his incredible rise to fame by winning the 2024 Premier League title with an 11-7 victory over Humphries at the O2 Arena in London and is 6/1 to get his hands on the SPOTY trophy.
Mark Cavendish broke the all-time record for Tour de France stage wins in July and is 20/1 to win Sports Personality of the Year for a second time following his 2011 success.
The 39-year-old Manxman announced his retirement at the end of 2023, but justified his U-turn by winning stage five, the 35th of his career.

Pidcock Popularity Growing
Tom Pidock is starting to benefit from Britain’s lack of gold medals in the track and field in France.
The 25-year-old from Leeds defied a puncture and a less-than-smooth tyre change which left him trailing by 40 seconds to make a successful defence of his men’s mountain bike title.
It was a remarkable performance from Pidcock, who later went on to finish 13th in the men’s road race.
In July, he withdrew two-thirds of the way into the Tour de France because of Covid, having almost won stage nine.
Pidcock was 66/1 with specials betting sites before the athletics programme got under way on August 1, but his odds have been cut to 33/1, with Bet Victor going as low as 14/1.

Hot Hewett One To Watch
Tennis player Alfie Hewett looks an interesting dark horse at 66/1 to win SPOTY.
Hewett is part of Britain’s six-player wheelchair squad competing at the Paralympics which get under way towards the end of August.
A three-time silver medallist at the Paralympics, Hewett is going for gold in both the singles and doubles, having completed the full set of grand slams at Wimbledon earlier this year.
He later won the doubles title at SW19 for a sixth time with partner Gordon Reid, so should he win the gold in Paris, his odds will surely plummet.

Finucane And KJT Drifting
Emma Finucane was as short as 7/2 when she won gold in the team sprint, but her odds have since lengthened to 100/1.
The world champion teamed up with Katy Marchant and Sophie Capewell to win from behind in an exhilarating final against New Zealand.
The trio broke the world record three times in just three hours of cycling and Finucane still had hopes of adding to her medal tally.
The 21-year-old from Carmarthen landed bronze medals in the keirin and individual sprint to complete a stunning Olympics debut, but the odds suggest this will not be her year to win SPOTY.

Those odds shortened to 16/1 when she led after the first day, but she was pipped to gold by Nafissatou Thiam, now a three-time Olympic champion.
The 31-year-old Liverpudlian would have been a very popular winner of the women’s heptathlon, having never won an Olympic medal despite twice winning gold at the 2019 and 2023 World Championships.
Johnson-Thompson was 14th on her Olympics debut in 2012, sixth at Rio four years later and failed to finish in Tokyo in 2021 owing to injury.
However, KJT finally got her hands on a silver medal and she is 100/1 to be crowned Sports Personality of the Year.

Golden Duo Page And Yee Outsiders
One of the great British feel-good stories of the Olympics was Bryony Page’s gold-medal success in the trampoline and she is 100/1 with Bet365 to win SPOTY.
The 33-year-old from Crewe won silver in Rio, bronze in Tokyo in 2021 and finally completed the set with 56.48 points in Paris.
Page had been struggling with an ankle injury and a minor neck problem during podium training, but she put all that to one side to complete a remarkable success.
Yee, like Pidcock, had an equally dramatic victory in the triathlon during which he trailed Hayden Wilde going into the final lap, but found an extra gear to wear down the fatigued New Zealander and pinch gold to add to the silver he won in Tokyo.
The 26-year-old Londoner was 100/1 to win SPOTY before the Olympics started and is now surprisingly 200/1 with SpreadEx despite adding a bronze medal to his gold in the triathlon team event.
